Understanding UV radiation
Our most common cancer in Australia is skin cancer – with 2 in 3 Australians diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime, and over 15,000 cases each year. In fact, Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world!
The good news is that skin cancer is one of our most preventable cancers. Nearly all skin cancers are directly related to your exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation; this means, that when you protect your skin from the sun’s UV radiation you reduce your risk of skin cancer.
