Peer Connect Volunteering
Have you recovered physically and emotionally from your own cancer experience and treatment?
Would you like to support other people newly diagnosed with cancer?
Peer Connect is one to one telephone peer support for people experiencing a newly diagnosed cancer, undertaking treatment or encountering survivorship issues.
Peer Connect peer support is provided by a volunteer who is:
- recovered from a similar cancer experience
- specially trained to provide telephone peer support
- supported by Peer Connect health professionals
I’m enjoying my experience as a volunteer and find it very satisfying. My thanks to you for the excellent training provided.
Our Peer Connect peer support volunteers listen to others with a unique understanding, sharing their experiences and ways of coping. They can provide practical information and emotional support to meet the individual needs of someone experiencing newly diagnosed cancer.
