We all know fruit and vegetables are good for us but do you know they can help reduce the risk of cancer?
Fruit and vegetables also contain natural protective substances, such as antioxidants, that can destroy cancer-causing agents (carcinogens) and cancer cells. However fruit and vegetables are most useful in helping to maintain a healthy body weight and overweight and obesity is a strong risk factor for some types of cancer.
Current Health Statistics show 51% of adults in NSW consume the right amount of fruit, while only 9% eat enough vegetables.
Research shows the more fruit and veg that are consumed, the better chance you have of preventing cancer. So how much should you be eating?
