Research

Dr Nikilyn Nevins is a researcher in the Ovarian Cancer Team. She completed her PhD at the University of Sydney, examining genomic, molecular, and clinical data for determinants of treatment responses and survival outcomes within a precision medicine study for ovarian cancer. Her background spans oncology, immunology and neuroscience, and incorporates multiple technical approaches including laboratory studies, bioinformatic analyses and clinical data mining, which facilitates a multidisciplinary approach to these complex datasets.

Nikilyn’s interests focus on the identification of modifiable factors that influence cancer risk and treatment responses by applying multiscale and systems lenses to extant public and novel datasets. Ovarian cancer is a highly heterogeneous disease, and Nikilyn’s research aims to refine the ways in which interventions are matched to individual patients. She is also enthusiastic about patient advocacy and health literacy in the community.
