Melanie Lovell is a palliative medicine physician and senior staff member with HammondCare at Greenwich Hospital in Sydney.
She has appointments as Clinical Associate Professor at University of Sydney and Adjunct Professor at University of Technology, Sydney, teaching medical students palliative care, cancer pain assessment and management, and spirituality.
She also chairs the working party that developed and updates the National Cancer Pain Management guideline housed on the Cancer Council Australia website.
