Nikola Ellis has been immersed in yoga for 25 years and is the founder and principal teacher at Adore Yoga in Sydney.
Nikola specialises in yoga therapy, tailoring the techniques of yoga and meditation to help people manage their health and wellbeing. She teaches clinical groups at the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network and other organisations, including developing yoga programs for people with eating disorders, cancer, auto-immune conditions and mental health issues. Nikola is currently completing a masters degree in counselling and psychotherapy and is committed to making yoga a force for positive change in the world.
After losing family members and friends to cancer, in 2013 Nikola started Pink Yoga as a fund raiser for Cancer Council NSW, and a mission of making sure every woman with cancer in Australia has access to yoga with a specially trained teacher.
Nikola says, “As a yoga therapist, I have worked with many cancer patients and seen firsthand the benefits that carefully chosen and taught yoga practices can have.”
Pink Yoga has grown into yearly fundraising events, and regular yoga classes and resources for people with cancer.
