Dr Laura Twyman
Dr Laura Twyman is the Tobacco Cessation Program Lead at Cancer Council NSW.
Dr Twyman holds a PhD in Behavioural Science from the University of Newcastle. Her research interests include optimising the delivery of smoking care through organisational and health systems change and smoking cessation and priority populations. Dr Twyman works across policy and program areas of the Tobacco Control Unit and can provide comment on patterns of smoking in Australia, smoking cessation methods, smoke-free legislation and emerging products including electronic cigarettes.
Dr Twyman’s achievements at Cancer Council NSW include overseeing a large research trial exploring the best ways to support people experiencing mental illness to quit smoking.
