We would like to thank our generous pro bono partners who help to deliver our Legal, Financial Planning and Workplace Referral Services.
With their support, we helped patients and carers access professional advice with cancer-related legal, financial or workplace issues when they otherwise would not be able to afford to do so.
Why this support is crucial for the community
Unexpected legal and financial challenges are often a cause of distress after a cancer diagnosis, and this support helps to ease this burden, allowing people to focus on what matters most, their health, wellbeing and family and friends.
In FY25, 1085 patients and carers received free legal, financial planning and workplace advice and assistance.
This equates to approximately $2.79m worth of advice provided for free.
We couldn’t do it without our partners
Since our Legal, Workplace and Financial Referral Services’ inception in 2010, we have partnered with thousands of professionals who generously provide pro bono legal, financial and workplace support to people affected by cancer.
We currently work with almost 600 organisations across the country.
We are proud to partner with so many wonderful organisations and professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to support patients and carers at their most difficult time.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the 113 organisations who have partnered with Cancer Council for over a decade.
Face-to-face support piloted this year
This year, a new model offering face-to-face legal and financial support was piloted to increase access to support services for patients and carers in regional areas.
Thanks to the support of the following partners, two regional face-to-face legal and financial support clinics were held in Lismore and Coffs Harbour:
