Connect with Cancer Council

You may have noticed our dedicated fundraisers in shopping centres, on city street corners, outside train stations, or even at your door. These friendly, trained staff help connect Cancer Council with the public, aiming to inspire those who can give regularly, to join our valued ‘Breakthrough Circle’.

Did you know that the large majority Cancer Council funds come from the generosity of people in the community? Without our face-to-face and door-to-door teams, much of the research and support we provide simply wouldn’t be possible.

What is Face-to-Face Fundraising?

Face-to-face fundraising is when trained Cancer Council fundraisers speak with the community in public spaces or door-to-door about the impact of regular giving.
This is one of the most effective ways to:

  • Answer your questions in real time
  • Share how donations support cancer research, prevention programs, and support services
  • Invite people to join us as ongoing supporters

Why Regular Giving Matters

Regular donations provide stable, predictable funding that allows us to plan long-term initiatives. They ensure we can support people with cancer today, tomorrow, and into the future.

Every ongoing gift helps us plan ahead and reach more people when they need us most.

Your monthly donation helps fund:

World-class cancer research

for earlier detection, better treatments, and improved survival

Prevention programs

that empower communities to reduce cancer risk

Support services

such as transport to treatment, counselling, and practical help for people affected by cancer

Meet Our Fundraisers

You’ll find them in branded Cancer Council uniforms, always carrying an official photo ID badge.
