This project will determine how drug resistance develops at the genetic level and explore ways of making treatment approaches more effective.

A novel approach to shutting down the energy supply in cancer cells has led to highly promising treatments that are already undergoing successful trials in people with solid cancer tumours.

Professor Minoti Apte and her team made a crucial breakthrough in finding that the cells around the pancreas help the tumour to grow. Targeting these cells can hinder growth of the cancer.
