Professor Jane Ussher
Jane is the Professor of Women’s Health Psychology at the Translational Health Research Institute, Western Sydney University. Her research focuses on examining gendered factors underlying mental health problems, identity in relation to the reproductive body and sexuality, and gendered issues in cancer and cancer care.
As a trained clinical psychologist, Jane has also made a contribution to the integration of research and clinical practice in women’s health, and has developed a women-centred psychological treatment for PMS, and interventions for concerns about sexuality and fertility in the context of cancer and sexuality. She has published in the areas of sexuality, fertility and intimacy in the context of cancer, gender issues and women’s health, and LGBT experiences of cancer.
