Wedding
“We felt we already had everything we needed, so we decided to use our wedding as a way to help raise money for The Cancer Council. The 'Gifts Thing' gift cards The Cancer Council provided went beautifully with our invitations, and everyone felt fantastic about their contribution. It made us feel so good on the day to know that not only were we having the best day of our lives, but we were also making a real difference to people living with cancer. Our guests donated over $7,000 in total!” |
Birthdays

“To celebrate my 30th birthday, I decided to ask my friends and family to donate to Cancer Council instead of buying me a present. Everyone loved the idea, and it felt great!” |
“When I was about to turn 60, I reflected on my life and realised just how many of my loved ones had been affected by cancer. I decided to mark this milestone birthday by doing something special - helping to defeat the disease. I asked my friends and family not to buy me a present, but to give a present to Cancer Council instead. By all of us working together, we can make much more of an impact than I could have by just donating myself.” |
Christening

“We want our daughter to live in a cancer-free world, and with more research, we believe it's possible. So when we celebrated her Christening with our family and friends, we asked that instead of gifts, people make a donation to Cancer Council. The best gift anyone could give her was a cancer-free future.” |
Mother's Day

“Mum's a cancer survivor – so we thought what better way to celebrate Mothers Day than by making a donation to Cancer Council.” |
Father's Day

Celebrate Fathers Day by making a donation to Cancer Council NSW in lieu of a traditional gift, call 1300 780 113 or email events@nswcc.org.au to make a difference this Father's Day.
