‘I look forward to these calls…its nice to know others share a similar experience'
Sylvia – advanced cancer group participant

The Advanced Cancer Group provides the opportunity for you to meet with other people dealing with advanced, metastic, or recurrent cancers. This group is not a cancer site-specific (i.e. breast cancer, prostate cancer, etc) so there is a broad range of cancer experiences in this group. All you need is a telephone, an hour and a quiet, private space.

The common link with all participants is that everyone in the group is living with advanced cancer. If you have any questions regarding whether this group is the right one for you, give us a call and we can talk about it.

Who can join?

This group accepts a broad range of participants:

  • Adults who have been diagnosed with advanced, metastatic or recurrent cancer regardless of primary or secondary tumour sites.
  • Participants may be at varying stages of disease from newly diagnosed with advanced cancer to a bit further down the track.

‘Its difficult to find a support group in my area…also sometimes I don’t feel well enough to travel so I find the telephone support group invaluable’

- Louis, advanced cancer group

When are groups held?

  • The Advanced TSG is held on the SECOND and FOURTH Tuesday of each month: 2.30 - 3.30pm.

How do I join a group or find out more?
