Welcome

A diagnosis of pancreatic cancer can be overwhelming.

This site is designed to help you:

  • Find out about pancreatic cancer
  • know what to expect
  • find out who will treat you
  • learn where to get support and how to access it
  • find out what research is being done
  • discover options to get involved

The aim of this program is to provide information and support for all affected by pancreatic cancer.

  • The information contained here is to help you understand what your doctor has told you about pancreatic cancer.
  • These information and support services have been developed in conjunction with medical and health professionals in the New South Wales Pancreatic Cancer Network.
  • The information is relevant to you wherever you live. (Please note: some support services are only available locally in Australia or in NSW.)

The Online Support Modules, which include stories of individuals who have been affected by pancreatic cancer are designed to be watched individually according to your own particular situation. Each module (around 6 minutes) tells a discrete story and is designed to introduce those affected by pancreatic cancer to some of the words you will now hear from your treating team.  We encourage you to watch only those modules that are relevant to your particular situation and take any questions raised, back to your doctor.
The 14 modules can also be viewed as a whole program.

The modules are currently being translated into Mandarin, Cantonese and Arabic (due to a significant private donation to the program) and these will be available as individual DVDs early in 2010. They can be ordered through Cancer Helpline 13 11 20 or via this website.
