Where we need your gift

Ground breaking research

Help us fund world class researchers or a specific project grant. Today’s research is tomorrow’s medical practice. As the largest non-government funder of cancer research in Australia, we fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer. Funding is highly sought after, with 150 applications for project grants submitted each year, from which we are able to support 15-20 successful proposals. Help us fund the next cancer research project.

Prevention programs

Preventing cancer is one of the most effective ways of beating cancer. A third of cancers can be prevented through education, support and changes in legislation. Help us stop cancer in it’s tracks by investing in our prevention campaigns.

Our current programs in need of support:

  • Preventing cancer through diet – Eat it to Beat it
  • Sun protection for Teens – Sun Sound Campaign
  • Family cancer protection – Healthy Sports Club

Support Services

We are committed to empowering and supporting people with cancer, so that no-one need face a cancer diagnosis alone. We offer practical and emotional support, as well as financial, legal and treatment advice through a range of evidence based services.

Our current support services in need of financial support:

13 11 20 Information and Support

A confidential service where you can speak to a specialist cancer professional about anything to do with cancer.

Transport to treatment

Many people still struggle to access cancer treatment due to transport issues. Help us to provide 19 patient transport services taking less abled patients to treatment. Last year thanks to donor funding we helped more 7,000 patients get to their treatment.

Home help

Your financial support can provide assistance with household tasks for cancer patients in their own home. Making patient’s lives easier after treatment, taking away some of the stress of running a household when recovering from treatment.

Emergency financial assistance and free legal advice

The financial and legal burdens of having cancer cannot be underestimated. Bills keep coming in when people are not well enough to work, adding to the stress and strain of treatment. Help us to provide emergency bill payments and free legal advice for families hit hard with a cancer diagnosis.
