Christina is a Senior Project Officer in the Tobacco Control Unit within the Cancer Prevention and Advocacy Division. Christina works across a range of tobacco control policy issues, including tobacco retail, smoke-free environments and e-cigarettes, and plays a key role in advocating for changes in these areas.
Christina has a degree in public health from Macquarie University and is currently is undertaking her PhD on the tobacco retail environment in Australia under the supervision of Dr Becky Freeman and Professor Suzan Burton. Christina also has a research interest in uncovering the ways that tobacco companies are reshaping their corporate image to influence public policy. She is the lead author of a recent study investigating tobacco companies’ use of Twitter to promote an image of being socially responsible and to oppose tobacco control policies.
