Update from Volunteer Unit Manager, Emma White
I am excited to let you know that we have recently extended the online learning opportunities available to Cancer Council NSW volunteers.
We’ve listened to your feedback from the volunteer engagement survey and now have two online learning platforms, Moodle and Lynda.com, to deliver flexible and relevant training opportunities.
In July this year, we launched Moodle to host courses developed specifically for Cancer Council NSW. Our first essential course, Volunteer Expectations, is a 20 minute refresher course about Cancer Council NSW’s code of conduct, workplace health and safety, bullying and harassment, fraud awareness, equal employment opportunity and privacy.
Over the past few months, Cancer Council NSW has also been undergoing an IT upgrade, transitioning our computer systems to Office 365. Lynda.com has been introduced to initially support office-based volunteers and employees with training on the new features of Office 365. But, Lynda.com offers many other optional learning opportunities that you may also be interested in.

Daffodil Day 2015
On Daffodil Day every item sold and every donation goes towards helping those affected by cancer. THANK YOU for helping make this possible on Friday 28 August.
The funds from the day are still coming in; however the day went extremely well with merchandise and fresh daffodils selling out at a number of sites.
We received great media coverage during the month of July and August and a lot of support from local communities showing they care about beating cancer!
For those of you who have Instagram you can search #showyoucare and #daffodilday to view photos from the day.
Does someone you know want to volunteer?
Someone you know wants to volunteer with Cancer Council NSW, but they live quite far away from you.
Direct them to this page on our website so that they can choose their closest Cancer Council NSW office and begin their volunteering adventure with us.
