Cancer Connect is one to one telephone peer support for people experiencing a newly diagnosed cancer, undertaking treatment or encountering survivorship issues.
Cancer Connect peer support is provided by a volunteer who is:
- recovered from a similar cancer experience
- specially trained to provide telephone peer support
- supported by Cancer Connect health professionals
The men and women who volunteer with Cancer Connect listen to others with unique understanding and share their experiences and ways of coping. They can provide practical information and emotional support to meet the individual needs of someone experiencing newly diagnosed cancer.
