Research

Dr Visalini Nair-Shalliker’s research is focussed on identifying environmental, lifestyle and molecular risk factors of prostate cancer, to improve our understanding on the interactions between modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors. She completed a PhD in Epidemiology which examined the relationship between sun exposure, vitamin D and development of prostate cancer. This led to her current involvement in a randomised control trial of vitamin D supplementation in men with prostate cancer.
