Coalition of Food Advertising to Children

 

 

 

 

The Coalition on Food Advertising to Children (CFAC) is concerned about all forms of unhealthy food marketing to children. CFAC is calling for a ban on unhealthy television food advertising during broadcast periods when high numbers of children are watching TV, and also for better regulation of other forms of marketing to children.

CFAC was formed in 2002 to address the issue of food marketing to children and to advocate for improvements in food marketing regulations.

What does CFAC do?
CFAC is a coalition of public health groups and experts who agree that advertising of high fat, sugar and/or salt foods to children is a significant threat to the future health of Australian children. CFAC undertakes a range of activities including disseminating information on the issue of food marketing; and calling for action to improve the regulations for food marketing to children through grassroots, media and political advocacy.
